A classic bolection fireplace with moulded frame on plain square plinths, carved from three solid pieces of marble with mason mitred corners. Made by Ryan & Smith from a beautiful block of Breccia marble sourced in Italy.

 

Medici Breccia

This marble is highly regarded in Europe, particularly Italy, its country of origin. In fact for the past 1,000 years it has been regarded as quite the noble stone gracing the royalty that once thrived in Italia. To this day it still soundly resides in the famous Medici Palace and many other prominent Italian buildings and Duomos. It is usually seen as a surface material on fine furnishings, fireplaces, vanities or inlays on the floor as well as wall cladding. Breccia marble wholeheartedly has a timeless sense about it. It is pleasing to the eye and is a very becoming material, in addition it has a rich historical background in terms of its usage.
